It is a great pleasure to introduce you to Our Lady's Abingdon. Choosing a school for your child is one of the most important decisions that you will make. It is a matter of matching your child’s abilities, personality and needs to an environment in which he or she will achieve their full potential. Our Lady's Abingdon has a committed approach to partnership between school, pupil and parents. We offer opportunities to enjoy success in a range of different areas. We widen horizons and develop self-confidence. Our school leavers are well-rounded, independent young people, with good academic qualifications and a sound moral and spiritual basis for the next stage of their lives.
OLA will welcome boys into the Senior School from September 2009. Boys will be admitted at Year 7 (age 11) and Year 12 (the first year of the sixth form) so that the whole school will be co-educational by September 2013. This is a very exciting time for us. Boys from our feeder junior schools will be able to move on to the Senior School. Brothers and sisters can be educated together, strengthening the family feel of our school. The wheel has gone full circle. When we were founded in 1860, it was to educate boys and girls. Now, as we prepare for our 150th anniversary, we can realise our founder's dreams.
Mrs Lynne Renwick, Headmistress.
