“They delight in increasing their understanding of the wider
world through play activities. The children are happy and secure in the
setting, and enjoy the many experiences offered to them” (ISI, 2010)
The Early Years Foundation Stage at OLA aims to provide a
safe, stimulating and nurturing environment in which children aged 3-5 are
encouraged to achieve their full potential, through a balanced programme of
adult-led and child-initiated activities.
The children are part of the larger school community,
attending a range of school activities, including morning assemblies and sports
events. They also benefit from all the facilities and specialist teachers we
have on site, including specialist teaching in PE and swimming. The school has
its own religious education programme which supports the children’s personal,
social and emotional development, and further helps to develop the ethos and
mission of the school.
