OCR Chemistry A Specification Code H432

A traditional A Level Chemistry course is followed which is aiming to equip students to follow the subject at university as part of a degree or another degree requiring good chemical knowledge e.g. Medicine and Pharmacy.

Module 1 – Development of Practical Skills in Chemistry

Module 2 – Foundations in Chemistry

Module 3 – Periodic Table and Energy

Module 4 – Core Organic Chemistry

Module 5 – Physical Chemistry and Transition Elements

Module 6 – Organic Chemistry and Analysis

These modules are assessed by three papers:

Paper 1: Periodic table, elements and physical chemistry.

Written paper at the end of the Upper 6th (2 hours 15 minutes).  37% of the A Level.

Paper 2: Synthesis and analytical techniques.

Written paper at the end of the Upper 6th (2 hours 15 minutes).  37% of the A Level.

      Paper 3: Unified Chemistry.

Written paper at the end of the Upper 6th (1 hour 30 minutes).  26% of the A Level.
