Sixth Form Selection Process

A student looking to join OLA Sixth Form will be self-motivated; have already played a part in the life of their school, participated in school and extra-curricular activities and shown an ability to work independently, as well as in a team, and want to make a difference.

It is recommended that students attend the annual Sixth Form Open Evening early in the Michaelmas Term or make at least one visit on another Open Morning before applying for entry to OLA's Sixth Form.

For entry to the Sixth Form, students are expected to gain at least 5 GCSEs at grades A* to B. Grade B or above is normally required in the subjects they wish to study at A Level. This does not, of course, apply for subjects that they have not studied below the Sixth Form. Students not achieving GCSE grade C in Maths or English Language will be asked to re-sit these subjects.

A general report from the student’s school will also be expected, including an up to-date academic report.
