Link Romania Appeal
In recent weeks the children, parents and staff of OLA have been putting together their Christmas shoeboxes which will be sent out to Romania to those families less fortunate than we are.
Having previously supported Operation Christmas Child in a similar venture, this is the first time we have chosen to be part of the Link Romania Appeal. Instead of producing boxes for boys or girls, as we had done in the past, each box had to be for the entire family and therefore contain items for mum, dad and the children.
It was certainly an interesting task to find things to cover such a wide criteria – and great fun! Altogether we collected 55 boxes which Miss McNeight and some members of the school council took over to Grove to the house of one of the volunteer collectors. The boxes will now be sent to a distribution centre before being sent on to Romania.
