Junior School Nativity 2011

Congratulations to the children in OLA Nursery, Reception, Years One, Two and Three classes who recently performed their annual Nativity play to an audience of parents, grandparents, friends and staff.

1On Tuesday 6th December pupils in these classes, in the presence of Mrs Lynne Renwick (Principal) and Fr Jamie McGrath (Governor and Parish Priest), presented  a variation of the nativity theme called ‘Children of the World’ to a packed audience in the Junior School Top Hall.

The play involved six ‘angels’ who visited other lands to collect children and bring them back to the stable where they explained how Christmas is celebrated in their countries using dialogue, acting and song. The entire ‘show’ emphasised the different ways in which these other lands approach the celebration of Christmas, but at the same time highlighted the fact that we all do one thing in common, that is the adoration of a small baby born in a stable 2000 years ago.

The audience were enthralled by some wonderfully enthusiastic singing and acting, and all the children looked splendid in their costumes. Our thanks to all the staff who worked so hard to help the children learn their words and perform so magnificently. It was quite an achievement by the children, some as young as five, to learn their words and remember what to do. Well done to them all!
