Science

All pupils study the full range of science subjects: Biology, Chemistry, and Physics throughout Years 7 to 11. In Years 7 to 9, Biology, Chemistry and Physics are taught as separate subjects, based on the content of the National Curriculum, but with a broader and more flexible approach. In Years 10 and 11, all pupils continue studying the three sciences, following the Double Award specification at higher tier level. This ensures that all pupils receive a broad and balanced education in the major scientific disciplines, allowing them to continue on to AS and A2 level Science courses, provided they gain sufficiently high GCSE grades. Examinations at the end of Year 11 lead to the awarding of two GCSE grades in Science.

Biology, Chemistry, and Physics are also offered at AS and A2 levels and are popular options.
