Our pupils are actively involved in raising money for local and international causes. Each year group organises a “Mission Effort”, often involving entertainment, competitions and the sale of food. The pupils then have the opportunity to present the causes which they would like to support and the school votes on it.
Sixth Form students are fully involved in community work through their Enrichment Programme, and internationally, they have been involved in projects in Moldovia, Kenya and Patagonia – the latter two through ‘team challenge’ expeditions.
The school also has a strong link with Maryhill School in Uganda. Students and staff have visited Maryhill and the school has sent them many books. We were honoured to have their headteacher and another member of staff visit our school earlier this year.
