Face to Face Whole School Open Mornings Autumn 2020

NOTE: PRE-EVENT REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED FOR ADMITTANCE TO ALL OLA FACE TO FACE OPEN MORNINGS

We are expecting social distancing measures and the need for masks to be worn for events in September and October this year.

To allow for this and to keep our visitors safe we plan to change our Autumn Open Morning arrangements and offer five Open Mornings in the period 22 September-5 October 2020.

Each Open Morning will have a limit on numbers attending and will require pre-event registration for entry.

When registering, visitors will also be requested to select a time slot. This time slot allocates to you 60 mins to tour the School (Lower, Senior and Sixth Form as required) and visit our information desks which includes Admissions. At the end of 60 mins you will have the opportunity to meet our Principal Mr Oliver for a short presentation with time for questions.

If government advice changes regarding the safety of events in September and October which necessitates a change to our Open Morning arrangements, all Open Morning registrants will be informed.

Why should you come?

If you are considering independent education for your child, OLA offers a highly successful fun and innovative learning experience in a happy and friendly community for students aged 7 to 18.

Located close to Abingdon town centre, we provide transport to school for pupils from locations across South Oxfordshire making it easy to be part of our family.

What makes OLA different?

OLA’s success comes from a combination of four factors which create the unique OLA learning adventure. Each child embarks on a journey that uncovers their full potential and nurtures them to achieve, enabling them to thrive both academically and as a person.

Small school: With under 400 pupils in total, OLA offers everyone the possibility of representing the school in a wide range of confidence-developing activities, including sport, drama, music, academic competitions and other chances to thrive, such as the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.

Small classes: We have a very high teacher to pupil ratio, meaning our class sizes are smaller than you will find elsewhere. OLA provides a more individual learning experience that fully nurtures academic potential and regularly delivers success beyond expectation.

Highly praised pastoral care: Our staff work closely alongside our pupils to encourage, motivate and support each child, helping them to grow as confident, successful and happy individuals.

Catholic Christian ethos: This is the foundation of everything we do, creating the family community so valued by OLA parents. The school accepts children of all faiths and none and helps them aspire to such values as integrity, compassion, openness, forgiveness, reconciliation, co-operation and courage.
