Lower School – admission into Year 3,4,5 or 6
Our Lower School begins at Key Stage 2 (Year 3). Children in our Lower School benefit from access to many of our Senior School facilities and expert teaching staff in addition to having their own Form Tutor for each Year Group. Progress into Year 7 at OLA for our Lower School pupils is entrance examination free providing parents and children with a pathway right through to OLA 6th.
Senior School – admission into Year 7,8,9 or 10
The main intake of boys and girls into our Senior School is at age 11 (Year 7) and age 13 (Year 9). However, pupils may be accepted into most Year Groups where there is availability. Admission partway through GCSE and A-level courses is only possible in very exceptional circumstances.
Due to the Covid pandemic, this year there will be no written entrance examination for entry to OLA Senior School. Pupils are selected on the basis of their performance in an admissions interview with a member of our Leadership Team, and the Report and Reference received from their previous school.
OLA 6th admission
For entry into our Sixth Form (OLA 6th), students are expected to gain at least 5 GCSEs at grades 9 – 6 (A* to B). Grade 6 (B) or above is normally required in the subjects they wish to study at A-level. This does not apply for subjects that they have not studied below the Sixth Form. Students not achieving a minimum of GCSE Grade 4 (C) in Maths or English Language will be asked to re-sit these subjects.
