Parents’ Association

OLA Parents’ Association

At OLA we have a thriving Parents’ Association that is, and has been, an integral part of the OLA community for decades.

In its time the OLAPA has raised tens of thousands of pounds, which has been spent on equipment and resources to enhance the students’ education experience and the school’s facilities. For example, recently we contributed £10,000 to playground equipment and £5,000 for a drama department lighting rig alongside exciting science and sports equipment.

Our spending suggestions come from staff, parents and the pupils themselves via the Lower and Senior School Councils.

Linking Home and School

OLAPA is about much more than simply fundraising. We exist to provide closer links between home and school and it is an excellent way to bring staff, parents and friends together socially in support of the school, working towards a common goal. It is a fun way to get involved in school life and give something to the OLA community.

Getting Involved

All parents and members of the school are encouraged to get involved, even if they only have a small amount of time available. All families automatically become members of the OLAPA when their child joins our school.

There are lots of ways parents can help OLAPA and if you would like to be more involved you can volunteer by contacting the Chair on or any committee member via Classlist.

OLAPA is a Charity registered with the Charities Commission – Number 1172463.

We are a member of Parentkind, the UK’s leading PTA membership organisation.

2nd Hand Uniform Shop

The PA also runs OLA’s 2nd Hand Uniform Shop. The shop is currently closed due to COVID-19 restrictions but we are taking donations and making sales. Please email your requirements and we will do our best to help.

We have a wide range of stock from Lower to Senior School all at half the price of the cost on Stevensons, along with house t-shirts, swim bags and other items.

If you have any OLA School uniform items that you would like to sell, please drop them into the Senior Reception with the 2nd Hand Uniform Clothing Hand-In Form completed.

You will get 60% of the price of all items sold or if you wish, you can donate the money to raise funds for the PA.

Classlist which is available via a free app or online at, is a program that allows parents to safely share contact details with their class or year group. It is completely optional to join and it is entirely up to you how much information you want to share, with whom, and what communications you would like to receive. Your details are not shared with anyone and are protected by GDPR guidelines. A copy of the OLAPA Privacy Policy is available on Classlist.
